NBA 2K22 Remastered: Next Gen Experience on PC

Next Gen Experience on NBA 2K22 PC

NBA 2K22 was released on PC two weeks ago sharing Current Gen version with the PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch consoles. If something has characterized the PC version in recent years, it has been the Modding Community behind this platform.

A community full of talented people who are capable of modifying the video game thus increasing its possibilities.

NBA 2K22 Remastered Reshade

The modder known as Mahmood, along with his team, have set out to bring the NBA 2K22 experience on PC to a simulation of what could be considered Next Gen.

This version will include countless modifications in the graphic section, from a new intro / menu to a new and more realistic lighting system, which will provide the PC user with a higher graphic quality than what we find by default. Get in touch with the authors here.

First off, they've got their staple for Remastered: The Updated UI. As you can see, they've completely redone the main menu. The removed the panel on the left side to make it more spacious, updated Luka with their own art, and, best of all, have introduced MyNBA to NBA 2K22 on PC.

Gone are the days where we wish MyLeague was updated, because now, every single instance of MyLeague is in the trashbin, never to be seen again. While it may not have the same features as the Next Gen port, it definitely gives you a feeling of evolution and freshness.

They've also re-done the main menu background to have actual lighting and a different normal texture -- it no longer feels bland and uninspired as you scroll from mode to mode.

Roster Editor Overhaul w/ New Fonts

Secondly, they have entirely revamped the Roster screen. They now have a motif (pattern) stretched across both the header and body, which gives it a very nice style. If you have a good eye, you'll also see that the fonts are different.

They have figured out how to effectively implant new / existing fonts into the game via older 2K's. This should freshen up the experience nominally as 2K has decided to use the same fonts for about 3 years in a row now.

Player Editor Overhaul w/ New Idle Animation

This year, for the Edit Player Background, Mahmood took inspiration from 2K19, and used a reference image to completely rebuild the feel and look of that environment, and put his own twist onto it. Along with this, they have a new Idle Animation, which should make your player feel more alive rather than a stagnant, blinking robot. You can also see their new fonts at play in the UI and Header.

They have also continued to implement their Custom Haircut Names. Some new additions are updated to better reflect the type of cut, and other small changes have been made to better round out the Edit Player Experience.

Jersey Select Screen

Continuing to innovate, they have figured out how to get a floor file to properly display in the Jersey Select screen, and their next step is to successfully port an arena environment that will display. They strive for their level of detail to be similar to Next-Gen, and want to ensure that every corner of Remastered is a substantial upgrade from Vanilla 2K22.

The authors of the project, led by Mahmood, have made available to users a form to opt for early access. You have it in the link below.

  2. I have a question. What if I have to change court, where will I put the files in the mod 2k22 remastered or just ordinary mods folder?

    1. It depends on the mods folder that you want to load. If you are using the remastered mod, then copy it into its mods folder.
