Tiger Woods is back on the cover of a video game
Tiger Woods, considered one of the best golfers of all time along with Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer, will be the cover athlete of PGA Tour 2K23 video game. This means that Tiger Woods is back on a video game cover after nine years. The last appearance of Tiger Woods was in 2013 when he was part of the cover of "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14", EA Sports franchise’s last golf title, with Severiano Ballesteros and Rory Mcllroy. Woods had his own video game series with EA Sports from 1999 until 2013 and was the cover athlete every year.
After a long time being out of the video game world, Tiger Woods inked long-term exclusive deal with 2K in 2021 as an executive director and consultant, so it was expected to see him as a cover athlete for the 2K Sports golf title. 2K has announced that PGA Tour 2K23 will be available in two different versions, which will be the Standard edition and the Deluxe edition.
Tiger Woods will appear in both versions, which are similar in design to what we've already seen with NBA 2K22 and NBA 2K23. A very colorful design where the "watercolor" effect predominates, which is quite original and goes great with the 2K logo. In the Standard edition we can see Tiger Woods with his golf club with a background in blue tones that are combined with fans while for the Deluxe edition, 2K has opted for an orange color where we can see Tiger Woods raising his right arm in a winning gesture.
Golf star Tiger Woods was very excited about this new project as he said: “I am looking forward to making my return to the video game landscape, and with 2K and HB Studios, I’ve found the right partners to make it happen,” Woods shared after signing with 2K back in 2021. “I’m honored to take part in this opportunity and look forward to sharing my expertise and insights as we build the future of golf video games together.”

PGA Tour 2K23 Release Date
PGA Tour 2K23 Gameplay and Trailer
2K hasn't shown gameplay for PGA Tour 2K23 yet, but we're expected to see it in August. Apparently the date chosen by 2K Sports is August 22, 2022. So we will have pretty soon a trailer and a first look at what we can see in October, once PGA Tour 2K23 is officially released.
