Last month NBA 2K21 received an update with which users could add some of the players from the 2021 Draft to their MyTeam team. Those models were not to the liking of many members of the NBA 2K community. Even though those weren't a real scan, they didn't look bad.
Today 2K has surprised us with a couple of screenshots where we can see that Cade Cunninham, chosen with the # 1 pick and new Detroit Pistons player, got a real scan.
NBA2K's new scanning system is simply brilliant. You can compare some of the new faces and see how the level of detail of each face texture collects much more information than previous years. Resulting in a sensation of photorealism that makes NBA 2K the best basketball simulator. And considered by many, as the best sports videogame in Next-Gen.
In the video below, we can see how it was the process of scanning the cover athlete, Luka Doncic and Dirt Nowitzki for NBA 2K22.
With all that we have been able to know so far, we can see how 2K is putting a lot of effort into improving the different aspects of the video game. Hopefully we will see new scans in the coming days.
