NBA 2K26 All New Face Scans in Patch 5.0 (Season 5)

2K dropped Patch 5.0 on February 17 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S (PC gets it a bit later). While the patch includes the usual bug fixes and some City tweaks, the real talk in the community right now is all about the player likeness updates, especially the new hair dynamics and general hairstyle/face scan refreshes.

Hair dynamics got a serious upgrade for a solid group of players. This means their hair actually moves more realistically now swaying, bouncing, reacting to jumps, dunks, and contact instead of just sitting there stiff. It's one of those details that makes the game feel way more alive, especially up close during replays or in The City.

The full list of players receiving these hair dynamics enhancements includes:

Ausar ThompsonDetroit Pistons
Mamignan TouréWashington Mystics
Jabari WalkerPortland Trail Blazers
Jaylin WilliamsOklahoma City Thunder

That's a nice mix across the NBA and WNBA, and fans are already posting clips of how much better guys like Cade and Ausar look in motion.

On top of that, another batch of players received general hairstyle tweaks or full likeness updates. These are more about cleaning up scans, fixing lighting issues from older versions, updating current looks (new cuts, beards, etc.), and just making sure everyone matches what we see on TV these days.
